Another week complete! It feels as though time is just speeding by, so much to do and so little time.
If you’re subscribed to our YouTube channel or follow me on Instagram, you know that I have Sickle Cell and this has been a big part of my pregnancy experience (more to come on that later). For the first time in my pregnancy, I have gone more than 2 weeks without getting sick, I can’t express how great this feels. My main priority right now is staying healthy so that my baby boy can grow and not feel any pain due to mama’s body. Let’s get right into this week’s update:
How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/measurements: 8lbs! (I think I gained 5lbs over the last week!!!!!)
Clothing: I wore maternity pants every day this week and I’m still able to wear my regular sweater! Thank God for stretchy sweaters. I’m trying not to wear my non-maternity sweaters too much because I’m worried that I might stretch them too much and not be able to wear them postpartum.
Stretch marks? None!! Still using my personal beauty product line “Naomi Body Shea Body Butter”.
Sleep: Only waking up once during the night and I’ve even slept through the night twice.
Purchases: Hoping to order baby’s crib today, I’m just so scared to commit to one (what if I find something better?) lol
Highlight of the week: Starting to clean out the spare room to prepare for decorating the nursery!
Worst moment this week: Having ignorant people make assumptions about my health and judge me based on their assumptions. If you don’t know, just ASK! I will be more than happy to answer your questions. Ignorance is inexcusable.
Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach.
Movement: Daily but the little guy seems to be playing games with daddy. When I feel a lot of activity, I tell my husband to touch my belly and as soon as he does that, the little guy stops moving. It’s like he’s playing Freeze Tag and he does not move again until my husband lifts his hands.
Food cravings: Wings!
Food Aversions: None
Gender: BOY!
Labour signs: Nope
Symptoms: Little bumps on my face, they aren’t really noticeable if you aren’t familiar with my skin lol
Belly button in or out? Out.
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Emotions: I haven’t noticed any emotional changes recently but I’m sure my husband would beg to differ.
Looking forward to: Our next doctor’s ultrasound. Painting the nursery over CHRISTMAS!!!!
