about me

Meet Wemi

Allow me to reintroduce myself! It’s been too long, and I have let life get in the way of my passion for writing. In 2021, I want to get back to this source of joy and bring you brilliant posts with love.

I am Wemi, mom to an amazing four-year-old, owner and creative director of Naomi Love Designs, wife to an amazing man and best of all, a lover of people and lover of God.

Now that the surface stuff is out of the way, let’s get into a little more about who I am (without telling you about the nitty-gritty details like how many cavities I have had in my life). After reading this introduction, I hope you feel like you know me and just made a new friend.

How do you genuinely get to know someone? I find myself asking this question as I try to explain myself in one short post.

My family

Motherhood

My role as mom is one of the most rewarding and learning experiences of my life; I love being a mom and take my job very seriously. I take great joy in watching my son grow and in being a part of his daily learning. Are there hard days? Absolutely! But those days are quickly overshadowed by the good days and moments of love, togetherness and growth. I hope to share those good days and bad moments with you all on this blog. Currently, I am a work-from-home mom, which started shortly after my son turned one; I wanted to be there during his formative years to instill the best values and lessons in him. This desire encouraged me to start my own hobby business with planner stickers and supplies.

Naomi Love Designs

Creative Director/Owner

I went to university to study business but graduated with a degree in Psychology and Communications with a Business minor to go with it. After working a few years in a standard 9-to-5, I went out on my own. I am the creative mind behind the brand Naomi Love Designs. What is Naomi Love Designs? It is one way I express my creativity; it is a planner and stationery boutique where I offer stickers and accessories to help people plan a creative, stylish and organized life.

Homeschool Mom

Homeschool Teacher

Around the age of two, my husband and I noticed an extraordinary gift in our son, which led us to analyze our education system. We wanted his talent and light to be nourished rather than limited and shaped to fit into a prescribed box. Upon our analysis, the best decision for us would be the homeschool path. If I am honest, we both fought this path for as long as possible, but prayer and many signs eventually led to us changing our perspective and exploring homeschool. We started a homeschool trial year before my son would have needed to start school (age 3) because we wanted to see if we could make it work; our trial year had many bumps. Still, we eventually got a good groove going, and I am happy to say we are now two years into homeschooling, and we love it! I am excited for you to join along on our homeschool journey.

Christmas 2020 as a family

Wife

I am incredibly blessed to be married to someone I can call my life partner, Dave. With almost seven years of marriage under our belt, we have experienced many joys and challenges together. We both feel called to share the blessings and hard work of marriage with others to be a lighthouse to our generation. As you read our stories and thoughts, our hope is that you are encouraged in whatever stage of life you find yourself.

Shopping

Let’s be honest; I love to shop. I can admit this to you because this is an open space. I love shopping, and I love sharing my shopping finds. Rarely do I pay full price for something unless it’s an absolute must-have. Shopping can be fun, but it’s also important to be responsible in spending. I like to say that I am a thrifty woman with a love of fancy things. Fancy things can get pretty expensive quickly, so I want to save where I can to afford the fancy things in life. On my blog, I will share all my great tips and finds with you, and I hope to be an excellent resource for everyone who likes to shop for both fancy things and non-fancy things.

Now I know I said this would be a short post, but here we are, many paragraphs later. I hope you feel like you know me a little more, and I hope you become a part of my conversation with the world as we explore all these pockets of life together.

What else would you like to know about me?  Let me know in the comments.
